A record 800 volunteers planted 12,000 indigenous trees and shrubs along the Mullum Mullum Creek Trail in Manningham's biggest National Tree Day event yet. Together, they helped strengthen an important wildlife corridor and create a lasting environmental legacy.
Families, friends and neighbours spent the morning planting indigenous trees and shrubs, transforming sections of the creek corridor while strengthening connections with each other and the environment. The event highlighted the important role Mullum Mullum Creek plays as a vital habitat corridor supporting biodiversity, improving waterway health and contributing to a cooler, greener Manningham.
From first-time planters to seasoned volunteers, the day brought together people of all ages and backgrounds with a shared goal: to care for the places we live and love. Our teams supported participants throughout the day, sharing advice and helping ensure each planting contributes to the long-term health of the landscape.
Beyond the planting, the event created space for connection with families enjoying face painting, creative activities and time outdoors, and children learning about trees and the environment in a hands-on way.
