Red Bin Lid Retrofit In Final Stages

Cr-Shane-Latcham_2.jpg

Rockhampton Regional Council is now in the final stages of the Bin Lid Harmonisation Program, with most dark green general waste bin lids across the region successfully retrofitted for red.

Over the coming weeks, waste collection drivers will be on the lookout for any remaining dark green lids that may have been missed or not presented during the initial rollout.

If your general waste bin still has a dark green lid, we encourage you to fill out a short form on Council's Engage website or contact Council directly.

We also request that you please continue to place your bin out from 6am to 6pm on your usual collection day to allow enough time for the changeover, which is scheduled to happen over the coming weeks.

Only the lid will be replaced, not the entire bin, and no action is needed if your bin already has a red lid.

All dark green lids removed will be returned to Council's bin manufacturer, melted down and repurposed to produce new bins.

To complete the online form or learn more about the program, visit Council's Engage website, or contact Council on (07) 4932 9000.

This initiative is supported by the Queensland Government's Recycling and Jobs Fund.
