Red River Water Levels Dip

Public Services and Procurement Canada

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise the public that due to the recent drought, water levels along the Red River (between St. Andrews Lock and Dam and the City of Winnipeg) are forecasted to fall below the summer operational level. Boat operators should exercise caution to avoid hazards such as rocks that would normally be submerged.

PSPC will continue to lock vessels through but will not accept responsibility for water levels upstream or downstream of the lock, and in addition will not be responsible for the depth of water over the Lister Rapids.
