The Australian Government is pleased to be hosting the AI Government Showcase: Adoption in Action. Registrations are now open. The Showcase will be held on Thursday, 31st July 2025 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra.
The AI Government Showcase brings together leaders from across the Australian Public Service (APS) and industry to meet with Australian AI innovators.
The showcase is being hosted by the Digital Transformation Agency and the Department of Finance, with assistance from our industry partner: the Australian Information Industry Association.
Together, we will shine a spotlight on how artificial intelligence is already being applied and where its greatest opportunities still lie ahead of it. All to aid the practical, responsible adoption of this solution at scale.
'Whether you're developing AI solutions locally, delivering AI within the APS, or exploring how to bring emerging technologies into your agency, this showcase is for you,' explains Lucy Poole, General manager for Strategy, Planning and Performance.
'It's your opportunity to see and showcase "adoption in action'. The day will dive into the practical steps taken to embed AI capability.'
'This includes what worked, what changed, and what's next.'
What to expect
The showcase is built around real cases of AI being rolled out across government, or new solutions being developed by Australian businesses.
'From small scale pilots to enterprise level tools, agencies across the APS are already starting to utilise AI to support their work,' outlines Chris Fechner, Chief Executive Officer for the DTA.
'This showcase will highlight the progress being made and the opportunities ahead.'
You'll learn how teams navigate complex challenges, where they've streamlined operations, and embedded responsible AI into real services for Australians.
Meet and speak to some of Australia's most forward-thinking AI leaders, sharing solutions designed for government challenges. MC'd by Kate Pounder, with sessions from Lee Hickin (National AI Centre), Professor Toby Walsh (AI researcher and author), Stela Solar (National AI Centre), and Liming Zhu (CSIRO's Data61).
The day will be full of:
- Live demonstrations and booths of innovative solutions from small-to-medium AI vendors across the country
- Leaders from the public service sharing real-world use cases
- Network opportunities bring together project leads and solution providers
'We believe the Australian Government and local industry are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning,' points out Ms Poole. 'And both are committed to excellence.'
'The APS does so through the delivery of services that help the people and businesses, and industry through the delivery of cutting-edge solutions that can make that happen.'
'We want to continue finding opportunities to bring them together.'
