Registrations Open for Top Exploration Event

NT Government

Registrations for the Territory's leading technical exploration event, the Annual Geoscience Exploration Seminar (AGES) in Alice Springs, are now open.

Senior Executive Director Geological Survey Ian Scrimgeour said AGES is a highly anticipated exploration-focused conference that has been highlighting the Territory's investment potential for over 25 years.

"The NT Government's AGES conference spotlights the vast and underexplored resource opportunities in the Northern Territory and sends a clear message - the Territory is an excellent place for exploration investment," Dr Scrimgeour said.

Over 300 delegates are expected to attend AGES, which connects delegates with influential industry leaders and gives access to experts from the Department of Mining and Energy's NT Geological Survey (NTGS) and its partners.

The 2026 program is scheduled for announcement in February, including highlights of new pre-competitive geoscience data from the NT and industry updates on the latest minerals and energy exploration highlights and concepts.

AGES will feature findings from recent NTGS geoscience programs in the Pine Creek Orogen region and Amadeus Basin, as well as the latest insights on the rapid resource growth and mining developments in Tennant Creek.

Additionally, delegates will have access to onshore gas presentations on the Beetaloo Sub-basin and new industry milestones and exploration highlights for copper, gold, uranium and critical minerals across the NT.

Dr Scrimgeour said the Northern Territory is well placed to supply the critical minerals and energy resources the world needs, and unlocking the Territory's geological potential will help grow the economy.

"AGES will highlight new data and exploration stimulus programs that are designed to increase exploration activity, improve industry success rates and accelerate economic development through direct and indirect jobs for Territorians," said Dr Scrimgeour

The 2-day industry event will be held in conjunction with the Mining Services Expo co-ordinated by the Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations (DTBAR).

The Expo brings together suppliers, service providers, and industry specialists from across the Territory and beyond showcasing the capabilities that keep exploration and production moving in the Territory.
