Registrations open - National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence

The Tasmanian Government wants to create supportive school environments, free from bullying, harassment and violence and send the clear message to young people that bullying and violence, in or outside of school, is never okay.

The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence is now calling for all Australian schools to get involved and Take action every day in the lead up to the National Day on Friday, 15 March 2019.

I encourage all Tasmanian schools to support this, the ninth National Day of Action, by registering early. Schools will have access to printed materials, including student pocket cards and parent information cards which provide tips on how to deal with bullying.

The National Day provides a national focus for school communities to talk about the importance of ‘taking a stand’ against bullying and violence.

Tasmanian schools are already working hard to create safe and supportive environments for students, utilising the Department of Education’s Respectful Relationships Education resource. Initiatives such as this further strengthen the message to schools and their communities that bullying and violence is never okay.

Register your school now and get ready to join the nationwide movement to, Take action every day - Bullying. No Way!’

Visit www.bullyingnoway.gov.au to register, and for resources and information to support your involvement.
