Remembering Glen Waverley Library

Photo-Gallery.jpeg

As we approach the temporary closure of Glen Waverley Library on Monday 8 June, we reflect on the library's history and impact it has made on our community.

You're invited to take a walk down memory lane online via Flickr or drop by the library to view a special photo display featuring historical images from the library's construction through to its early operations (1975-1978).

The temporary closure of Glen Waverley Library will make way for construction to commence on Council's $110 million Glen Waverley Civic Precinct Project, an exciting investment that will transform the heart of Glen Waverley.

The project will deliver a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art Glen Waverley Library, designed with modern and flexible shared spaces to support learning, creativity and community connection.

During construction, and to ensure Council can continue to deliver what will be reduced, but essential, library services to our community, we will establish temporary library sites in July 2026.

It is an exciting time as we work together to deliver a bigger, better Glen Waverley Library.
