This Saturday, 4 December, Local Government elections will take place across NSW, including Lake Macquarie.

Lake Macquarie City Council comprises 12 Councillors and the Mayor, each of whom is popularly elected.

Sixty-three candidates have nominated for this year's election across three wards – North, East and West.

Councillors elected in December will serve a reduced term of two years and eight months after COVID-19 caused the 2020 election to be postponed.

The poll declaration is expected to occur between 21 and 23 December 2021.

Early voting in person is open and available to everyone this week. There are seven pre-polling locations across Lake Macquarie.

Polling places will be open 8am-6pm for voting. Find your nearest polling place at elections.nsw.gov.au/Elections/Where-do-I-vote.

Residents are reminded that it is compulsory to vote in local government elections. Fines apply for people who do not vote.
