Renewed appeal for information into north-west NSW assault

Police are appealing for information as investigations continue into the serious assault of a man at a property in the state's north last year.

About 10pm on Wednesday 1 July 2020, between 10 and 15 people forced entry to a property at Quipolly, about 60km south-west of Tamworth, assaulting the 49-year-old male resident.

The group ransacked the home before assaulting a second man and leaving the property.

Emergency services responded and treated the first man for serious head and facial injuries.

He was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital for treatment, before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital suffering a significant brain injury.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, police are renewing their appeal for information.

Police have been told members of the group had their faces covered with face masks printed with skull/teeth print, and dark-coloured clothing.

They were last seen leaving the property in a white 4WD utility.

Police believe members of the community can provide crucial information to assist in solving this investigation, and urge any person that has information to come forward.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
