Request for public assistance - Alice Springs assault

Northern Territory Police are seeking the assistance of the public in relation to an alleged assault that occurred in Alice Springs this morning.

Shortly after 6:00am on Barrett Drive, a middle-aged woman was allegedly threatened by a male with a hammer after the male damaged her vehicle, Northern Territory Police say.

The woman was not injured and left the scene in her vehicle.

The male also left the scene.

The suspect is described as being an Aboriginal male of average build, possibly in his teens, with medium length black hair. He was described as wearing a maroon shirt with black on the bottom and possibly light coloured pants.

Police ask any person who may have witnessed the incident or sighted a person in the area as described to contact police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers.
