Requirements for indoor recreation facilities - Jindabyne Pool and recent abuse of Council employees

This morning - Thursday 18 November 2021 - a member of the Jindabyne community abused a staff member over the NSW Government's requirement to be double vaccinated and wear a mask at Jindabyne Pool.

Abuse of Council employees will not be tolerated.

This behaviour takes the focus of our employees away from the priority of swimmer safety while they deal with unreasonable people who are unable to accept NSW Government mandated regulations.

Our employees are pleased to see this indoor pool facility open again in Jindabyne and are working hard to ensure that our facilities are operational for community use ongoing.

Council requests that patrons respect our staff and the regulations mandated by the NSW Government.

Please see below the NSW Government mandated requirements for indoor recreation facilities, which includes the Jindabyne Swimming Pool:

• Supply evidence of double vaccination on entry and check-in using the QR code,

• Children under 16 years of age who are not fully vaccinated can follow the rules for the fully vaccinated on the condition they are attending with a fully vaccinated member of your household. If members of your household over 16 years old are not vaccinated then attendance at the facility is prohibited.

• Wear a mask when indoors and not exercising (in the pool)
