Orange City Council is writing to residents in the neighbourhood of a planned upgrade in Beasley Road near Lucknow.
Orange City Council has received funding from the NSW Government Fixing Local Roads (FLR) Program to complete an upgrade on Beasley Road from the Mitchell Highway to Blunt Road. The first stage of this project is a safety upgrade to the intersection of the Beasley Road and Blunt Road.
The project will involve:
- Improving the line of sight at the intersection for vehicles exiting Blunt Road onto Beasley Road by moving the crest of the hill to the middle of the intersection, and
- Widening the intersection for increased vehicle safety
Under the NSW Roads Act 1993, Section 29, Council is required to give adjoining landowners notice of the proposed change to the existing road level. The upgrade is expected to change the height of the road surface throughout the intersection varying from approximately to an increase of 80 cm to a decrease of 20 cm.
Plans for the project can be viewed at the Orange City Works Depot at 270 McLachlan Street (Monday to Friday 7 am to 4pm). For convenience please phone ahead to make an appointment so that a council officer can be available to explain the plans and answer any questions you may have.
Adjoining land owners are entitled to make submissions to council with regards to the proposed road alteration. All submissions are to be made to council by 6 October 2021 through the following avenues:
