Rhyll amenities upgraded

Bass Coast Shire Council has given the Rhyll Fishing Club public toilet block a makeover, in time for the busy summer season.

Council's Building and Open Space Maintenance Teams have repainted the whole complex, complete with a new colour scheme and also installed a new flooring material.

The project was used to test a new sticker flex material on the floor, which has provided fantastic results. The new material has a much lower cost than a paint seal, which is usually used in these sorts of projects. It is also expected to last around 10 years, compared to two years for a paint seal.

Due to the success of the sticker flex material, Council will now develop a program to install the flooring in all of its public facilities in the future.

These works have coincided with landscape works recently completed in the area, which included a community working bee, that saw The Sea Captain sculpture receive a new coat of varnish.
