- Queenslanders can leave the car at home and travel with ease this New Year's Eve.
- Additional public transport options will be rolled out across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
- The LNP's Permanent 50 Cent Fares will be waived from 8pm, meaning FREE public transport via bus, tram, train and ferry.
- The Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start and a better lifestyle for Queenslanders.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering more public transport options and free services to bring in the New Year across South East Queensland's best vantage points.
Families heading to the early fireworks displays can access stress-free travel with the M1, 222, 333 bus services running every five minutes from 6pm.
Brisbane ferry services will also run to an altered timetable to accommodate the surge in demand for the fireworks displays.
The way home will be just as easy, with the same bus services operating every five minutes and more than 200 train services running every 20 minutes-or-less from the city, South Bank and South Brisbane stations.
Free public transport will be available from 8pm New Year's Eve until 5:30am on New Year's Day, and those travelling outside of these times will still have access to the LNP's Permanent 50 Cent Fares which have already delivered hundreds of millions of dollars in cost-of-living relief for families.
Minister for Transport and Main Roads Brent Mickelberg said more free and 50 cent services had been added across New Years Eve to make public transport the safer, cheaper, and easier option.
"To help Queenslanders make the most of New Year's Eve, we have added more trains, trams, ferries and buses, so leave the car at home and let us take care of the journey," Minister Mickelberg said.
"Those revellers headed to celebrations before 8pm will be able to make the most of the LNP's Permanent 50 Cent Fares, while those travelling afterwards will travel for free.
"Free New Year's Eve Public transport and our 50 cent fares are all part of the Crisafulli Government's plan to deliver a fresh start for Queensland and to help maintain our lifestyle.
"With so many people moving around on New Year's Eve, we just ask everyone to have patience, as we get you to your destinations and back home quickly and safely."
