Ride-share driver threatened; man arrested in Parramatta

A man has been arrested after a ride-share driver was allegedly threatened with a firearm in Sydney’s west this afternoon, NSW Police say.

Just before 3.30pm (Saturday 17 November 2018), police were called to the Great Western Highway, near Church Street, Parramatta, after reports of an armed man.

Police have been told a ride-share driver was threatened after dropping off a man on the Great Western Highway.

The driver was uninjured, and police were notified.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command attended and conducted a search of the surrounding area.

About 3.50pm, a 33-year-old man was arrested on Campbell Street.

Checks revealed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

He has been taken to Parramatta Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.

No firearm has been located and police are continuing to search the area.
