Crash investigators have charged a learner rider following the death of a pedestrian in Revesby last month.
About 9.25pm on Saturday 30 August 2025, emergency services were called westbound on the M5 Motorway, Revesby, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command arrived to find the passenger of a Mitsubishi SUV – stopped in an emergency bay – had allegedly been struck by a motorcycle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the passenger – a 37-year-old woman – at the scene before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
The learner rider – a 19-year-old man – was also treated at the scene and taken to the same hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the SUV – a 34-year-old man – and the two backseat passengers – two girls aged 5 and 3 – were uninjured.
A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries into the incident.
On Monday 1 September 2025, police were notified the 37-year-old woman had died.
Following inquires, police arrested the 19-year-old man at a home on Parkside Crescent, Campbelltown, yesterday (Saturday 13 September 2025).
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, and negligent driving occasioning death. The man's licence was also suspended.
The 19-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 9 October 2025.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
