Riverway Movie Nights presents Pinocchio: True Story

Riverway Movie Nights are back for the year, with a free screening of Pinocchio: A True Story showing on Friday, 17 March.

These always-popular events run on every third Friday of the month and feature an open-air cinema under the stars as well as food trucks and a coffee van.

This family-friendly event is a great chance to pack a blanket and head down to Riverway to catch this quirky animated movie that sees a young Pinocchio run away from his genius creator Geppetto to join a traveling circus.

Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill invited everyone to come and enjoy this free event with family and friends.

"Right now, the weather is perfect to huddle up with the family on a picnic blanket under the stars and enjoy a movie night to kick off the weekend," Cr Hill said.

"Council is pleased to present this event, with free entry for everyone and food and drinks available from food trucks at the oval."

Bring your popcorn, picnic blankets or towels and treats, and enjoy the screening of Pinocchio: A True Story from 7pm this Friday at Riverway Oval.
