R.M.Williams and designer Marc Newson have today announced the release of the 2nd capsule of their collaboration on The Yard Boot 365, a boot designed for thinkers, tinkers and creators and crafted for those with undeniable character.

The new capsule collection of the Yard Boot 365 will launch exclusively with global online luxury platform Farfetch, with the full collection being available for purchase from 10th February 2021.

Designed with purpose as a future icon, and the modern-day work boot for the modern-day worker, the 2nd capsule of the collaboration sees the introduction of a new colour palette with a contrasting cream sole.

The Yard Boot 365 was developed as a contemporary take on the original R.M.Williams Gardener boot, first introduced in the 1950s as an answer to "the combined effects of mud, water and sand" for those working in long grass, dairies, swampy or sandy conditions. The Yard Boot 365 embraces this concept of hardworking versatility and updates it for the modern adventurer: no matter the wearer's 'yard' or whether for work or for play, the boot suits 365 days a year.

The new capsule collection utilises the same unisex design, made from one piece of leather, a moulded sole and fully engineered elastic gusset. This collection introduces three new colourways and an updated cream rubber outsole. The boots have the same core design and style, including the sunray sole tread pattern inspired by the harsh yet beautiful Australian outback.

The second capsule introduces three new colorways:

Burgundy: Soft Italian leather

Grey: Suede

Dusty Ochre: Suede

The Black and Walnut Greasy Kip leather colourways from the first capsule will carryover and sit alongside the three new colours and R.M.Williams' other iconic styles in their trademark colours.

At the time of the Yard Boot 365 launch, R.M.Williams collaborator and industrial designer, Marc Newson, said, "As an Australian, I was thrilled to have been asked to design a boot for R.M.Williams, a brand that I have grown up with and have great appreciation for ever since I got my first pair of boots in my early teens. I have had a most fulfilling experience collaborating with the company and especially designing a product that I have always loved."

Of the new release, Newson says, "it is important to me to preserve the DNA of any brand I work with. For this year's Yard Boot 365 capsule collection, we updated the colours and the contrast outsole. As most of us have had to learn new ways of working and living over the past year, I hope this boot adds character to life's everyday adventures."

R.M.Williams' CMO, Mathew Hayward added, "R.M himself coined the phrase The Country Boot that went to Town – The Yard Boot 365 embraces our roots while continuing to innovate as the man and the brand has always done. Made here in Australia, at our workshop in South Australia, this future icon launched in 2020 and saw 50% of sales be contributed to new consumers, with the strongest international performance for a new boot at launch. Marc has brought a new consumer, and a new boot to our loyal consumers with his Undeniable Character."

The new Yard Boot 365 will be available to purchase in R.M.Williams stores and online from 1st March at $445 RRP, and has been developed and manufactured in R.M.Williams' workshop in South Australia.
