Drivers in Yan Yean are enjoying smoother and more reliable commutes to and from work, school and other adventures, thanks to Council's recent $2.2 million upgrade of Arthurs Creek Road.
Arthurs Creek Road, between Plenty Road and Recreation Road, now includes new asphalt, easy-to-see line markings, and updated guard rails, helping people get home to their families sooner and safer.
The drainage along Arthurs Creek Road has also been upgraded, ensuring that rainfall is diverted away from the busy thoroughfare.
Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said that with around 140,000 new residents expected to call the City of Whittlesea home over the next 20 years, Council is committed to upgrading vital road infrastructure to support the City's growth.
"A reliable and connected local road network is one of the most important ways in which we're supporting residents to get to where they need to be, safely and conveniently," Ms Wilson said.
"Through the Community Plan 2021-2025, Council is prioritising projects that provide better access to transport, both public and road based, and this includes improving the condition of local roads."
