Robbery and assault, West End

Detectives are investigating after a woman was robbed and assaulted in South Brisbane last night, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary information suggests around 10pm a 35-year-old woman had just stepped off a ferry and was walking in Orleigh Park near Orleigh Road when it will be alleged a group of juveniles approached and assaulted her.

It will further be alleged the woman was punched, kicked and dragged towards the Brisbane River before she was able to break free.

The woman’s iPad was stolen when the youths fled on foot.

The injured woman was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with facial injuries and lacerations.

A short time later the Police Dog Squad was able to locate and arrested three teenagers in a nearby street.

The woman’s iPad was also located.

A 14-year-old boy and two girls, aged 14 and 15, have been charged with one count each of robbery.

Anyone with further information or who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to come forward.

Police believe at least seven other youths were involved.

Investigations continue.
