Robbery and wounding at Maroochydore

Police are investigating a robbery and wounding of a 50-year-old man in Maroochydore yesterday afternoon, June 6.

Initial investigations indicate a group of men attended an address on School Road shortly before 5pm.

The male resident and the group, who are known to each other, were involved in an altercation, when the man was assaulted and sustained a stab wound to the leg.

The group proceeded to steal a number of personal items from the residence, before leaving the scene in an unknown vehicle.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A crime scene was declared and investigations are continuing.
