Our Council has re-appointed Robyn Seymour as CEO for a further five years.

During her first five years as Council's CEO, Robyn has strengthened our organisation's strategic focus and overseen the planning and delivery of several long-awaited community facilities, including:

  • the new Winchelsea Pool;
  • Torquay Hockey Pitch; and
  • the soon-to-be-completed Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

Robyn has also supported Council to make significant progress in key areas, such as addressing the housing challenge, protecting the shire's natural environment, and supporting growth while ensuring placemaking is strategic and designed to protect the unique character of local towns and communities.

Mayor Libby Stapleton said that in a challenging financial environment, Robyn had managed Council's finances responsibly while delivering essential projects and services that provide maximum value for ratepayers.

"What stands out most is Robyn's commitment to instilling excellent systems, culture, transparency, and governance to help her staff and the Council serve our community effectively," Mayor Stapleton said.

"Robyn sets high standards for herself and for the organisation, ensuring we focus on delivering what matters.

"On behalf of Council, I congratulate her on her re-appointment and look forward to working alongside her over the coming years."

Robyn thanked Council for their confidence and said she looked forward to tackling the challenges and opportunities the next five years will present.

"A key motivation for me in joining Surf Coast Shire was my passion for working closely with communities and supporting delivery of what matters most to them," Robyn said.

"It's a privilege to be part of this organisation and to work with people who have so much passion and commitment.

"I'm looking forward to continuing to work alongside our Council, staff and the community to provide quality services and achieve the aims of our four-year Council Plan."
