Rock fisherman pulled from ocean - Kurnell

A man has been taken to hospital after being pulled from the ocean in Sydney's south this morning.

Just after 8.15am (Wednesday 25 December 2019), emergency services were called to Voodoo Point near Sir Joseph Banks Drive, Kurnell, after reports a man was in the water.

The man, aged in his 40s, was retrieved by the NSW Ambulance helicopter before landing nearby where paramedics commenced CPR.

He has been airlifted to St George Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers from Sutherland Police Area Command attended and have been told the man was rock fishing at the time, however, it is not known how he came to be in the water.

Police have been told he was wearing a life-jacket.
