Get ready to usher in 2024 with a bang as Rockhampton prepares to bid farewell to 2023 with Triple M's Light Up the Sky.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams is keen to welcome an exciting 2024 thanks to Triple M's Light Up the Sky.

"Light Up the Sky is a great way for the community to come together with friends and family to celebrate and welcome in the new year," said Mayor Williams.

"The community is in for a treat with two spectacular fireworks displays set against the stunning riverside precinct. The festivities kick off with a ten-minute fireworks display at 7:30pm, catering to those with early bedtimes. For those ready to ring in the New Year with a bang, another show is scheduled for midnight."

"Attendees are encouraged to make the most of the occasion by enjoying a riverside dinner at one of the many food establishments in the CBD or from a selection of pop-up food vendors along Quay St."

Southern Cross Austereo General Manager, Nikolas Stuart said the Triple M CQ team is ecstatic to be partnering once again with Rockhampton Regional Council for the biggest NYE display in the region.

"We invite everyone to welcome 2024 with family, friends and fireworks at the Light Up the Sky event 7:30pm and midnight," said Mr Stuart.

"Whether attending Light Up the Sky or celebrating at home, audiences can tune in to the specially curated New Year's Eve music countdown on the LiSTNR app or by tuning into Triple M CQ."

"Proudly brought to the community by Rockhampton Regional Council, Advance Rockhampton, and 101.5 Triple M Central Queensland, Light Up the Sky promises to be a memorable celebration."
