Rockingham Vehicle Stop in Arrest, WA

At about 8pm last night, Thursday 25 May 2017, Traffic Enforcement Group officers intercepted a blue Holden Rodeo Utility on Ennis Avenue Rockingham.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located a .22 sawn off rifle under the seat of the driver, along with a spent .22 shell casing. Rockingham Detectives attended and a further search of the vehicle was conducted where a quantity of .22 ammunition and a double barrel shotgun were located, WA Police say.

It will be further alleged, a search of the male driver revealed an amount of cash and

methamphetamine.

A 34 year old man from Leda has been charged with the following offences:

· Possess Firearm in Circumstances of Aggravation

· Possess Unlicensed Firearm Carried with Drugs and/or Cash

· 2 X Unlicensed Person Possess Firearm/Ammunition

· Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methamphetamine)

The man will appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
