Rockliff Faces Integrity Crisis, Tasmanian Labor Claims

Tas Labor

Jeremy Rockliff's unconvincing response to Labor's challenge to declare that none of his candidates are under investigation by the Integrity Commission makes two things clear:

  1. One, if not more, of his candidates must be under investigation
  2. The Premier knowingly endorsed their pre-selection

There were three possible responses the Premier could have given yesterday:

  1. Say that none of his candidates were under investigation. This is the response you would give if you had nothing to hide, but he didn't do this, because he would have been lying.
  2. Admit that at least one of his candidates was under investigation. He could have done this without revealing who was under investigation, but he didn't.
  3. Deflect, avoid and attack. This is the option he chose. The guilty option.

Given the serious nature of the investigations, it is incredible that Michael Ferguson then had the temerity to double down with multiple, false attacks on Labor.

If the Liberals want to talk about integrity, they need to address the elephant in the room. Their own MPs under investigation.

After 10 years in Government and multiple MPs hauled in front of the integrity commission, Jeremy Rockliff's 'team of the decade' is perhaps his biggest lie of all.
