Cricket Victoria Chair Ross Hepburn has confirmed he will not seek re-election for a third term as a Board Member at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in August, and will therefore stand down as Chair at the conclusion of his current term.
Hepburn has served on the Cricket Victoria Board for the past six years, including four years as Chair, during a period of significant organisational change and progress. His leadership has supported a more unified Board, strong alignment with management, greater transparency with stakeholders and a renewed strategic direction focused on strengthening cricket across Victoria.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to serve Cricket Victoria over the past six years," Hepburn said. "I am proud of what has been achieved during that time, particularly the work to strengthen cricket across Victoria and support the game at every level. I thank the Board, delegates, clubs, staff, volunteers and partners for their support and commitment."
Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins thanked Hepburn for his service, leadership and commitment to Victorian cricket.
"Ross has provided the CV Executive with unwavering, values-led leadership and has been a passionate advocate for cricket at every level across the state," Cummins said. "His focus on building strong relationships and open communication has helped Cricket Victoria continue to grow and evolve. On behalf of everyone at Cricket Victoria, I thank Ross for his counsel and support and wish him all the very best for the future."
Hepburn said the time was right for succession, with Cricket Victoria well positioned for the future.
"Cricket Victoria is in strong hands, with dedicated people on the Board and across the organisation who have the best interests of Victorian cricket at heart," he said. "As ever, I will continue to support Cricket Victoria and cricket in Victoria."
Cricket Victoria will confirm their new Chair in September, following the AGM.
