Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

Only 1 week left to apply for round 2 of the Community Energy Upgrades Fund (CEUF).

The $100 million Community Energy Upgrades Fund (CEUF) is a targeted, competitive grant program that provides matched funding for energy upgrades at existing local government facilities.

Local governments and joint local government bodies can apply for grants of between $25,000 and $2.5 million for energy efficiency and electrification upgrades.

With up to $50 million available in round 2, grants will provide matched funding for projects like:

  • replacing high energy use heating in council pools with energy saving heat pumps
  • installing energy efficient lighting at sporting fields, libraries and community centres
  • investing in other energy efficiency and electrification upgrades.

Making energy efficient upgrades now will reduce operating costs in the future and lower greenhouse emissions.

Successful local governments will be expected to share knowledge from their projects to build the capability and skills of local governments and the wider community to undertake energy upgrades.

Applications close on 13 June 2025 at 5:00pm, AEST.
