Mitchell Shire Council is improving safety and accessibility in Wandong with a new raised pedestrian crossing on Rail Street.
What's happening?
From Monday 5 January, a new raised pedestrian crossing will be installed on Rail Street in Wandong, near Wandong Primary School. This upgrade will make the area safer for pedestrians.
Traffic impacts
- Works will begin on Monday 5 January and are expected to be completed by the end of January, weather permitting.
- Rail Street will be closed between Dry Creek Crescent and Affleck Street for the duration of the works, with detours in place via Dry Creek Crescent, Wandong Avenue and Affleck Street.
- Drivers should allow extra travel time and follow all signage and instructions from traffic controllers.
- Access to homes, businesses and surrounding streets will be maintained during the works, though short delays may occur.
