Campers are advised that water levels along the Gwydir River near Bingara may rise in the coming days due to the forecasted rainfall. While there is currently no cause for alarm and the river remains open to campers, it is recommended for anyone camping in low-lying areas to move to higher ground as a precaution. This includes moving all your vehicles, canoeing, fishing equipment and personal items away from the waters edge and to a safe distance if flooding is to occur.
