Samantha Power, USAID Administrator, Arrives in Kosovo

Today, Administrator Samantha Power arrived in Kosovo for a three-day visit. The Administrator began her trip with a stop at MOEA Farm, a local food processor in the Gjilan municipality. At MOEA, Administrator Power and U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier met with local food producers and processors, many of them women from across Kosovo's diverse ethnic communities. The Administrator also toured MOEA's orchard, and heard about how USAID has helped MOEA and other food processors across Kosovo access new markets, increasing employment opportunities and fostering a more inclusive economy.

That evening, the Administrator met with young entrepreneurs who have recently established businesses at the Innovation Centre of Kosovo, a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. She remarked on the creativity and passion of Kosovan entrepreneurs and emphasized the crucial role they play in driving a dynamic and vibrant private sector that helps inspire young people in Kosovo to remain and build their lives there. Administrator Power applauded the creativity and innovation of the entrepreneurs, highlighting how their efforts will help shape a brighter, more prosperous future for both their communities and all of Kosovo.
