Saudi Arabia Joins 1971 Wetlands Convention

On 2 April 2025, Saudi Arabia deposited with the Director-General its instrument of accession to the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat adopted in Ramsar in 1971, and amended in 1982.

In accordance with the terms of its Article 10 (2), the Convention as amended in 1982 will enter into force with respect to Saudi Arabia four months after the deposit of the instrument of accession, that is to say on 2 August 2025.
