SBS Food to Showcase Darwin's Zesty Food Scene

One of Darwins best kept secrets will soon be beamed across the country with a new TV series showcasing our vibrant food scene.

Top End Producers Ms Sally Ingleton and Ms Naina Sen have been awarded the contract to work with SBS to produce the series to be filmed around Darwin. The series will be presented by renowned Chinese Sri Lankan Territorian Chef Mr Jimmy Shu.

The NT Government has invested $200,000 towards this partnership with SBS Food, SBSs free dedicated 24/7 food channel to produce Delicious Darwin.

A series of eight half-hour television episodes will showcase Darwins incredible food and culinary scene, including the diversity of ingredients and the quality of our fresh produce and restaurants.

The series will be broadcast on SBS Food in a primetime slot and SBS On Demand.

SBS Food builds on SBSs 30 year history in food and offers a broader range of programming, focussing on premium Australian content while exploring the world through cooking, cuisine and culinary cultures.

This initiative is aimed at experienced Territory screen producers and will further strengthen Screen Territorys relationship with SBS. The project will also include career development opportunities for emerging local screen talent to gain work on the series as production attachments.

As stated by Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, Lauren Moss:
