Scarborough Park Masterplan Approved: Bayside

Bayside Council approved the Scarborough Park Masterplan at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 24 August.

Scarborough Park is a heritage listed park dating back to 1879 that covers an area of 61 hectares including wetlands that support native fish, birds, and microbats.

Scarborough Park provides a venue for a diverse range of sporting activities and attracts many local families, children, environmentalists, and dog walkers who enjoy the natural open space.

The Masterplan was developed in consultation with the community, local sporting groups and key stakeholders including Transport for NSW, Bicycle NSW and Kamay Greenway Working Group.

The Masterplan carefully balances the preservation of this unique ecological asset with the recreational and sporting needs of Bayside's growing community.

Mayor Edward McDougall said

"I would like to thank the community members who have contributed to this plan. Your comments and feedback have been a valuable part of this Masterplan that will guide Council's management of this incredible park," Mayor McDougall said
