Young people ready to embark on the next stage of their educational journey can get a helping hand through the Gunnedah Community Scholarship Fund.
Applications for the 2026 round are now open to all local students under the age of 25 who meet the eligibility criteria and are seeking to further their education or training at a university, TAFE, or an accredited training organisation.
Scholarship Fund Working Group Chair Councillor Linda Newell said it was a fantastic community initiative that had helped more than 500 recipients since its inception in 2003.
"While taking on new ventures can be exciting, it can also be stressful as costs add up," Ms Newell said.
"The program offers practical support at a time when young people need it most.
"Another great element of the fund is the variety of disciplines it covers - everything from animal science to arts/theatre, information technology, and social work.
"Many scholarship recipients have gone on to achieve remarkable things, and in some cases they have returned to our community to utilise their skills and training, bringing them full circle."
