School fire - Bondi Beach

Emergency services remain at the scene of a school fire at Bondi Beach this afternoon.

About 5pm (Wednesday 9 June 2021), emergency services were called to the school on Warners Avenue, following reports of a fire.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command and Fire and Rescue NSW attended.

More than 50 children who were in the school grounds at the time were evacuated by staff without incident.

Two officers were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but did not require further treatment.

There are no other reports of any injuries.

Local police and fire crews remain at the scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Inquiries are continuing.
