Martin Keller has been a member of the SAC since January 2019 and was elected its chair in 2023. The SAC is made up of renowned scientists from all over the world. It advises the Board of Directors on matters of fundamental and strategic importance and appraises Forschungszentrum Jülich as a "critical friend" from an external perspective, supporting, for example, preparations for PoF evaluations (Helmholtz Association's programme-oriented funding). The SAC chair automatically becomes a member of Forschungszentrum Jülich's Supervisory Board.
Martin Keller will step down on 30 September. Prof. Stephanie Clarke from Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (Switzerland) will become the new SAC chair on 1 October.
