The countdown is on for the 2025 Sculpture Muster, opening 20 September at the Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery. This year's exhibition promises to be a vibrant showcase of rustic and awe-inspiring sculptural works, with pieces displayed both inside the gallery and throughout the courtyard.
This quirky annual exhibition celebrates the extraordinary artistic talent found in our region, featuring impressive works by local artisans including Rachel Braybon, Stuart Taylor, David St Leon and Miro Peterman.
Many of the unique art works will be available for purchase, offering visitors a chance to take home a piece of Deniliquin's creative spirit.
Adding to the excitement in 2025 is the inaugural Anthony Breslin Art Prize, a new initiative honouring the legacy of the late Anthony Breslin - an artist deeply committed to nurturing creativity.
The Anthony Breslin Art Prize aims to amplify the voices of regional youth, celebrate Deniliquin's vibrant arts scene and unite the community through the power of art.
Conceived by Breslin's long-time friend Tara Strong, and presented in partnership with the Deni Ute Muster, the prize will spotlight submissions from two youth categories: 8–12 years and 13–18 years.
All youth entries will be exhibited at the Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery, with winners (including a People's Choice Award) to receive generous cash prizes.
Mayor of Edward River Council, Ashley Hall, shared his enthusiasm for the event:
"The Sculpture Muster is a true celebration of the creative spirit that thrives in our community. We're especially proud to host the inaugural Anthony Breslin Art Prize, which not only honours a remarkable artist with links to our region but also encourages our young people to express themselves and be part of something inspiring."
Artists, families and community members are encouraged to share the opportunity and invite young creatives to enter the Anthony Breslin Art Prize via the Deni Ute Muster website: www.deniutemuster.com.au/anthony-breslin-art-prize
The Sculpture Muster runs from 20 September to 19 October and is open daily at the Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery at 295 George Street, Deniliquin.
