SE Man Arrested for Child Exploitation Material

A man from the State's South East was arrested today as a result of an investigation into online child exploitation material.

On Wednesday 13 May, investigators from SA JACET, a joint task force between SAPOL's Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), attended a residence in the State's South East and conducted a search as a result of an investigation into online child exploitation material.

As a result, a 53-year-old man was arrested and charged with produce child exploitation material, disseminate child exploitation material and possess child exploitation material. He was bailed to appear in court on 14 July.

Numerous electronic devices have been seized for analysis.

"The dissemination of child exploitation material is a serious offence that causes real harm to victims and the wider community. The SA JACET remain committed to identifying and prosecuting those responsible for sharing such material. We remind the public that possessing or distributing child exploitation material is not only illegal but perpetuates further abuse," said Detective Chief Inspector George Fenwick, Officer in Charge, Special Crime Investigation Branch.
