Experts from the World Bank, the International Labour Organization (ILO), Durham and Cambridge will meet on 14 September to discuss the future of global business and labour markets.
The event, "Global Business and Labour Market Policy in Flux: the ILO, the World Bank and the UK", will explore how policy makers, businesses and researchers can respond to significant changes affecting economies and employment worldwide.
Addressing global challenges
The discussion will focus on some of the most pressing challenges facing global labour markets, including how to balance economic growth and job creation with secure and sustainable working lives.
Particular attention will be given to opportunities for younger workers, the role of international organisations in shaping future policy, and the importance of universities in informing global policy.

Research and policy
Alongside the public panel discussion, the experts will take part in a research workshop on international business and labour regulation organised by Professor Deirdre McCann of Durham Law School.
The workshop will contribute to a forthcoming publication in the European Journal of Industrial Relations (EJIR), where Professor Brandl serves as Editor-in-Chief.
