A Seaford woman has confessed she's thankful she ignored a winning phone call while behind the wheel, admitting the shock of discovering her $1 million Weekday Windfall prize could have sent her driving off the road.
The Adelaide resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4769 on Friday 16 October 2026. She scored a clean $1 million.
Remarkably, it was her first ever Weekday Windfall ticket that delivered her the thrilling win.
"Oh my god! I've won $1 million?!" she exclaimed.
"Do you know I've never actually played this game. This is my first ever ticket!
"I usually buy a ticket for the weekend's draw or Oz Lotto but when I had $7 left over and the Weekday Windfall offer popped up, I just thought 'Yeah, why not?'.
"It was just the smallest ticket. I can't believe this.
"I can pay my mortgage, pay my car, have a holiday, help the kids out! Yay!
"This also means I can go part-time. I would retire but I think I'd go crazy."
Although she initially ignored the winning phone call while driving, she called right back after hearing a voicemail from The Lott.
"This is crazy. I'm glad I didn't answer initially when you called. I was driving and I might've just crashed!" she laughed.
"We've just been sorting out all our finance stuff as a of lately. I'll call our financial advisor. He's going to be like 'What the f***?'.
"Thank you so much. You must have the best job in the world!"
Her winning 5-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4769 on Friday 16 October 2026 were 1, 7, 24, 45, 14 and 30, while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 40.
