Police continue to lead a search and rescue for a missing hiker last seen on the Fraser Island Great Walk yesterday afternoon (September 17).
73-year-old Madeleine Nowak (pictured below) has previous trail walking experience and was on an organised tour, when she became separated from the group.
She had clothing and food with her at the time of her disappearance.
A search and rescue commenced on Thursday evening and continued throughout today (Friday) with the assistance of Rescue 522 Helicopter, however Madeleine was not located.
Police are appealing for anyone who may be visiting Fraser Island this weekend to keep an eye out for Madeleine.
Searches will resume at first light tomorrow morning (Septemeber 19).
