The Northern Territory Police Force holds concerns for the welfare of 38-year-old Dalvin, who has not been seen since yesterday afternoon.
Around 8:10pm last night, police received reports that Dalvin was missing. He was last seen swimming in the Lander River at the edge of Willowra around 1pm, when he allegedly fell from an object he was using as a flotation device and was forced to swim to a semi-submerged tree. He has not been seen since.
A search and rescue operation was stood up at 8:30pm, coordinated by the Northern Territory Police Search and Rescue Section. Ti Tree police members attempted to deploy to the community that night, however, were unable to do so due to inclement weather and flooding in the area.
Inclement weather in the region continues to delay aerial search efforts and earlier delayed the delivery of ground search teams to the community.
Currently, Police and NTES ground search teams have been deployed as well as a drone team, which will conduct night searches using thermal camera capabilities.
When weather permits, Police have a helicopter on standby to continue aerial search tasks in support of the drone and ground teams. Assistance is also being provided by several cattle stations and other Police stations in the region.
Police hold concerns for the welfare of Dalvin and anyone who may have seen or heard from him is urged to contact police on 131 444.
