Search at Rapid Bay for missing man, South Australia

A search is underway at Rapid Bay for a missing man.

At about 5.45pm on Thursday 23 September, police were alerted after reports of a kayak drifting about 80 metres from shore between the caravan park and the jetty. A man had been seen fishing from the kayak an hour earlier and at around 6.45pm the unmanned kayak was brought to shore.

Police Water Operations Unit are coordinating the search with local police, PolAir, SES crews and Sea Rescue volunteers who are currently conducting an air and water search for the missing man.

The search is expected to continue for the next few hours.
