Search for two boys, Mount Elliot

Police are seeking assistance to help locate two boys following a traffic incident this morning near Townsville.

Officers were attempting to intercept a car that was allegedly stolen this morning when two boys have fled the vehicle on foot on Cape Cleveland Road.

The boys were last seen entering mangroves off the Australian Institute of Marine Science turnoff near the Bruce Highway at 4.30am and have not been seen since.

A number of police are currently searching the area and anyone who may have seen the boys or picked them up is being urged to contact police.

They boys are described as Aboriginal in appearance and believed to be in their mid to late teens.
