Search On for Missing Man in Forster Waters

A multi-agency search is underway in Forster after a man is believed to have disappeared underwater in Wallis Lake yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the area north of the Forster-Tuncurry Bridge about 4.45pm on Sunday, 22 February 2026, following reports that a man had gone under the water and failed to resurface.

Officers from the Manning Great Lakes Police District responded, supported by Surf Life Saving Australia and Marine Rescue NSW.

Despite an extensive search, the man was not located.

The operation has resumed today, Monday 23 February 2026, with crews continuing to search the lake and surrounding shoreline.
