A search is ongoing in the Stormlea area for missing 4-year-old girl, Shayla Phillips, who has not been seen since around 2.30pm yesterday.
Shayla was last seen playing with two dogs in a backyard on Stormlea Road. At the time she was wearing pink leggings, a cream top, and gumboots.
A significant search has continued overnight utilising personnel from Tasmania Police, Tasmania SES, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Police Drone Unit, and specialist dogs.
As part of the ongoing search, the dog believed to have been with Shayla when she was last seen has been located.
Due to the isolation of the area, and to ensure a coordinated and safe search, police advise that sufficient resources are currently deployed to the area and further assistance is not sought at this time.
