Search resumes for missing diver - South Coast

A search has resumed for a man who hasn't been seen since he went diving yesterday morning south of Bermagui.

Police have been told the 54-year-old man went diving about 8.15am (Friday 27 December 2019), with a family member at Barraga Bay, about 10km south of Bermagui, on the state's South Coast.

Officers from the South Coast Police District were alerted about 10am after the man failed to return, and a search was initiated.

Officers from the Marine Area Command's Police Diving Unit attended the scene and searched until 7pm when the operation was suspended. The search resumed this morning.

Police are keeping the man's family informed of the search progress.
