Search Underway For Missing Swimmer At Old Bar

A search is underway for a swimmer believed to be missing in the water in the State's north.

Just before 5pm today (Friday 23 January 2026), emergency services were called to Old Bar Beach, about 150m north of the Surf Life Saving Club at Old Bar, following reports a teenage boy – believed to be aged about 15 and wearing black boardshorts – had not returned from the water.

Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District responded alongside Marine Area Command, the Westpac Helicopter, and Surf Life Saving NSW.
