Seasonal Produce Ripe For Picking

Tasmanian Government

The Fruit Grower's Tasmania Seasonal Produce Guide has been launched for another year, showcasing some of Tasmania's best and freshest seasonal produce.

Launched today at Spreyton Cider Co. on Tasmania's North-West Coast, the new Guide will help consumers find the best seasonal produce for the upcoming festive season.

Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Gavin Pearce, said the Seasonal Produce Guide launch was published each year, providing useful information for both Tasmanians and tourists alike.

"This guide is a real asset for those travelling around Tasmania who want to get their hands on our world-class produce," Minister Pearce said.

"Our fruit and vegetable growers are integral to the agricultural industry, fostering community connections, supporting local economies, and promoting healthy living through providing Tasmania with the availability of nutritious and fresh produce.

"The Tasmanian fruit sector is a key contributor to Tasmania's agriculture production, with the farm gate value estimated at more than $400 million in 2023–24.

"They continue to play an important role in our ambitious target to sustainably grow the annual farm gate value of agriculture to $10 billion by 2050.

"I want to commend Fruit Growers Tasmania for another successful Seasonal Produce Guide launch, and all the great work they continue to do."

The Tasmanian Government has committed $600,000 over three years to provide a Trade Industry Officer and expand Tasmania's trade presence, $35,000 for the development of an online Seasonal Produce Guide and $300,000 over three years to maintain awareness of agricultural pests and diseases.
